Job Overview
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible automate, standardize and engineer solutions for repeatable implementations and execution.

Job Requirements

  •     Provide technical leadership, standards and best practices to all infrastructure teams.
  •     Evaluate new technologies (including newer versions of existing technology) for future deployment.
  •     Design, develop and test emerging hardware and infrastructure software solutions.
  •     Script and document procedures for repeatable execution by operational team (e.g. server builds, patching, software upgrades)
  •     Resolving complex technical issues and/or engaging external expertise/resources as required to ensure resolution. Gathering anecdotal and factual information from a number of sources in order to formulate a root cause.
  •     Refining business requirements, converting them to technical requirements and devising an appropriate infrastructure solution requires choosing from multiple technologies and ensuring that solutions stay within the guidelines of security/audit standards and conform to industry best practice.
  •     Understanding various design patterns which can be leveraged in the design of a new environment and for applications are unique, extending and customizing each design solution.
  •     Remaining current with evolving technological products and features and constantly changing business needs, internal standards and industry best practice.
  •     Making technology decisions that determine availability of infrastructure.
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For
  •     Post Secondary Education or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering related discipline.
  •     Must have 5-7 years of experience with at least one of the follow Software: IBM MQ, Oracle WebLogic application server, SunONE server
  •     Must have 5-7 years of experience with Unix operating systems and/or Windows operating systems
  •     Must have 5-7 years experience with one of the following languages: Shell scripts (ksh), Java (Servlet, JSP, EJB, SOA – WebServices) and Perl
  •     Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.
  •     Scripting Knowledge--Must be able to take a procedure done manually, evaluate all possible scenarios of complexity with that procedure, and eventually automate the same procedure for flawless execution.
  •     Product Knowledge--Must be able to take a vendor product and explore all possible use cases and make recommendations of best practices of that product.
  •     Strong understanding of highly available/scalable web architectures and disaster recovery techniques
  •     Experience or understanding of software development methodologies, network/TCP debugging, JAAS implementations & SSO technologies Extensive
  •     Knowledge of the existing and planned software technology and the global, regional and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
  •     Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
  •     Ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.
  •     Familiarity with hardware technology and the global, regional and local hardware architecture.
  •     Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and applying it to existing and emerging situations.
  •     Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
