Function/Purpose:
In support of the Director, the Divisional Strategist is responsible for addressing emerging and strategic Divisional and Corporate related issues by developing and implementing strategies and plans; representing, advocating and negotiating interests; providing advisory services; leading complex projects; establishing collaborative relationships; evaluating the success of strategies and programs; providing and facilitating the gathering of input; doing research; preparing reports; and communicating to stakeholders. The successful candidate will have 50% dedication to the downtown coordinator function, responsible for implementing the Greater Downtown Action Plan.

Job Requirements:
Undergraduate degree plus 5 or more years of experience in project/program management.
Knowledge of program administration theories, policy development, principles practices and processes including negotiation methodologies.
An in depth understanding of the integration of programs, governance and accountability frameworks, to address complex issues such as the interrelationships between business streams and the implications of changes.
Superior skills in planning, organizing, leadership/initiative, tact and negotiation, oral and written communication, presentation skills, project management, group facilitation and evaluation methods, and the ability to clearly outline issues.
An understanding of government wide functions and roles of other orders of government.
Knowledge of the Division’s mandate, vision, mission and organizational structure particularly as it relates to the specific program, project or service management is essential.
Must have a solid understanding of the principles of change management and how they should be applied in a complex, multifaceted organization.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
