Cargill AgHorizons is the division of the company dedicated to creating value for agricultural producers, specifically grain and oilseed growers in the Prairies and Ontario.
This division leads the industry in providing innovations in the areas of grain origination, agronomic and grain marketing consulting, and crop input supplies. Professionally trained customer focus teams work one-on-one with their producer customers, building long-term relationships-striving to understand their farming business and providing distinctive solutions, matched to their unique needs. Reporting to the Crop Input Accounitng manager, the Business Accounting Analyst - BioSciences is responsible for the accounting and administration of Sales Rebates and Supplier & Integrated Programs of the BioSciences Product Line.
You are a key member of the Crop Input accounting business support team and will be responsible for the financial accounting and control activities related to the BioSciences portfolio.
The expectation is that you are a key business partner who understands the business and can provide vital analysis, financial insight and direction as it relates to the ongoing business activities and initiatives of the BioSciences product line. You will be primarily responsible for Retail business; however, you may be asked to support the Wholesale business if additional support is required.

Principal Accountabilities: 
25% - BioScience Business Partnership - Supplier Rebates: The imcumbent will be accountable for the accounting and administration of sales rebates. They will be responsible for ensuring that the set-up of rebate calculations has been completed accurately and are able to interpret and explain the financial results (impact) for the business. Being the financial lead, they are expected to work collaboratively and provide leadership & financial insight to multiple business functions or Regions. They are also expected to work directly with the product line team and external suppliers to effectively capitalize on partnership opportunities identified in supplier partnership agreements (Marketing Letters).

25% - BioScience Business Partnership - Integrated and Supplier Programs: The imcumbent will be accountable for the accounting of select Cargill integrated program offers and crop protection & seed supplier sales programming. Within this role, they are expected to work collaboratively and provide leadership & financial insight to key stakeholders in the set-up, reconcilations and payout of these programs. In addition, they are responsible for ensuring that the month-end financial accounting activities related to program discounts are completed accurately.

20% - Business Analysis: The incumbent will be expected to work directly with the BioScience product line team, Regional stakeholders &/or CI Project Manager to provide adhoc analysis to help support business plan initiatives, Regional & FSG inquiries and Product Line analysis requests. In addition, they would be expected to provide leadership & financial insight, develop execution plans or coordinate deliverables on projects specific to the BioScience product line, sales rebates, or as assigned by their reporting manager.

20% - Month End & Financial Control Accountabilies: The Business Analyst would play a key role in analyzing Seed and Crop Protection P&Ls and balance sheets associated with sales rebates and programs. They would work with Accounting Analyst(s) to ensure all entries related to BioSciences Rebates and Programs have been processed accurately and reflect accurately in the P&L. They would also be accountable to indentify and take action to mitigate potential risks associated with rebate business activities, processes and programs. (i.e. critical spreadsheets).

10% - Indirect Leadership: Provide indirect leadership and influence on process improvements, finance business plan initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

Skills:
Required: Final stages of or complete accounting designation or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years experience in related field Ability to develop new processes or recommend changes to processes within BU activities. Strong understanding of financial metrics for performance. Demonstrated initiative, analytical & problem solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
Ability to establish priorities and set goals. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and work effectively as a team member. Strong customer service skills.
Strong focus on continuous improvement. Ability to provide innovative solutions to business processes. Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada on a non-temporary basis Preferred: Strong knowledge of JDE, Agrosoft, Impromptu, Actuate, Microsoft Office Suite systems/processes Knowledge of Crop Input product lines Understanding of Cargill AgHorizons business
