Position Overview:
The Cargill AgHorizons division on the waterfront in North Vancouver, BC has an opportunity available for an Electrical Technologist/Electrician to work as part of the maintenance team to ensure that all plant equipment is maintained and managed to the highest degree of reliability in a safe and cost effective manner.
Principal Accountabilities:
Perform predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance on facility assets
Complete scheduled quantitative preventative maintenance inspections on critical equipment
Complete installation of new equipment
Provide control system support for our plant control room operator
Investigate plant problems troubleshooting the causes
Repair circuitry and assist in plant networking problems
Participate in meetings, training activities, and in the plant safety program
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Skills:
Required:
Electrical Technologist diploma/certificate and eligible for registration with ASTTBC to obtain an Electrical, Electronic or Instrument Technologist certification
Possession of Interprovincial Red Seal Electrical trade certification
3 years or more industrial experience on HMI and PLC Systems
Must be willing to work from heights, in confined spaces, and other conditions
Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety and environmental regulations with absolute commitment to safety
Strong work ethic and a desire to be part of a high-performing team
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis
Preferred:
Experience in the grain industry or related food industries
Basic knowledge of motor control and troubleshooting
Working experience with Modicon 984 and Quantum PLCs
Experience with variable frequency drives and various type of sensors
Programming experience with ladder logic, function block, and structured text
Experience with PROFIBUS, MODBUS and MODBUS+, Fiber Optics installation and troubleshooting, and/or industrial wireless communications
