Job Overview
As the Senior Technical Writer apart of the Training & Documentation Services team, you will research, develop, and maintain documentation critical to Technology Operations. You will ensure that the most current information and knowledge is accessible, so that it can be applied to support Technology Operations and the CIBC lines of business.
Job Requirements
– Work with various groups to determine, produce, and support documentation requirements for Technology Operations documentation requests.
– Maintain existing documentation in accordance with internal audit requirements.
– Maintain the documentation repository to ensure version control mechanisms are in place and reportable.
– Provide consulting services to internal business groups on documentation or knowledge sharing practices designed to improve business results (services include, but are not limited to, templates and SharePoint).
– Account for and communicate status via time system, tracking databases, and project communications.
What We’re Looking For
– Successful candidates must exhibit CIBC’s values of trust, team work, and accountability.
– 4+ years of experience as a Senior Technical Writer in a Technology environment, or in a similar role.
– Must have the knowledge and ability to express complex concepts in simplified written, verbal and/or visual means.
– Must have knowledge and the ability to assess and communicate technical information appropriately to audiences.
– Must have knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word templates and styles.
– Must have experience working with Sharepoint 2007 or higher.
– Must have experience and knowledge of style guides and their impact to writing projects.
– Experience working in large corporate environment and/or financial/banking environment considered a strong asset.
– Project experience considered a strong asset.
– IT Infrastructure experience or exposure considered a strong asset.
– Must be able to multi-task and prioritize with minimal guidance.
Other Information
– Must be able to meet the schedules of several concurrent projects and priorities.
– May need to work/attend numerous meetings in a variety of office locations.
