Salary Range:
$1,121 to $1,457 payable biweekly (job grade 11 or 12), depending on the qualifications of the candidate

Job Summary:
Under the direction of a manager or more senior Information Technologist, you provide entry-level support in any of the information technology (IT) business lines. The Information Technologist focuses on developing Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) application/IT support as required. This individual must be flexible and willing to occasionally assist colleagues with activities that may fall outside of his/her formal responsibilities.

Central Responsibilities:
• carry out activities associated with the IT standard methodologies, e.g., define specifications, design, code, debug, install, test, implement and document
• provide support as required for systems within area of expertise; monitor and analyze diagnostic information, identifying problems and suggesting alternative solutions
• resolve common problems and refer complex problems to more senior Information Technologists
• maintain collaborative relations with colleagues, internal clients and external counterparts to support operational objectives
• participate in Type 1 – 4 projects by providing support in area of expertise
• develop Excel VBA applications and macros
Key Requirements:
• completed or enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in computer science

In addition:
• English or French essential
• strong communication skills, both oral and written
• strong planning and organizational skills to work within an environment where co-operation, coordination and flexibility are required
• ability to provide high-quality results under pressure
• solid analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions when giving advice or making recommendations
• ability to coach and obtain co-operation from others to achieve common goals, with well-developed leadership skills
• team player: ability to share expertise, provide constructive feedback and contribute ideas to achieve common goals
• demonstrated experience in setting priorities and monitoring projects and initiatives and in ensuring follow-through
• flexibility to adapt to new requirements and change, shifting priorities if more urgent work is requested
• proficiency with Excel
• experience in developing VBA applications and macros
Assets:
• ability to communicate effectively in both official languages
• ability to participate in overlapping projects or areas of responsibility
