Federated Co-operatives Limited invites applications for the position of Petroleum Sales Specialist Trainee located at our Home Office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Reporting to the Petroleum Marketing Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
1. The successful applicant will train in Home Office and a Region office for up to a period of six months, and then will be placed in a permanent position at one of our Region offices. During the training program, the candidate will develop expertise in: - Marketing, selling and petroleum product knowledge. - Promoting and selling fuels, propane, lubes, tires and related products. - Searching out petroleum sales prospects for FCL and/or retail co-ops with emphasis on commercial accounts. - Providing guidance and sales training to retail petroleum staff.
 2. The successful applicant will also schedule and participate in training sessions with the managers and co-ordinators of the petroleum department. Topics highlighted in the training program are reviewed periodically with the Petroleum Marketing Manager to ensure training is being completed on schedule.
3. After completion of the training program, the candidate will be placed as part of one of our Regional Petroleum Sales Teams – Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton or Calgary. The initial placement will be as a Petroleum Sales Specialist.

The qualifications for the position include a post-secondary degree in Commerce, Engineering or Agriculture, with a major in Marketing. Ideal candidates would have a solid understanding of and/or work experience in petroleum or agricultural areas. Candidates must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The selected candidate must be willing to travel extensively and be able to relocate to Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
