Job title:Sales Manager -Central Region

Purpose:   
To administer and implement the Sales Programs and produce annual budgeted sales and profits.
To assure adequate supervision, training and motivationof thetechnical sales representatives in the region.
Major responsibilities:
    Operates within the general framework laid down by Merial Canada.
    Ensure efficient flow of information with managed representatives, colleagues and management.
    Fosters company policies, procedures and overall goals. Directs the operation in accordance with established policies and objectives. Follows company policies with respect to hiring, terminations, performance reviews, submission of any proposed salary adjustments and other related personnel matters.

    Assists in the preparation of the expenses, sales, and budgets. Administers the profitable operation of the region; achieves the volume and profit objectives set for the region.
    Develops adequate training programs to improve sales techniques and product knowledge, and to impart complete information regarding company policies. Conducts regional sales meeting and sales refresher/training courses to educate and improve the performance of the field sales personnel through exploration of new procedures, ideas and sales techniques.

    Assists in the establishment and maintenance of sound geographical territorial assignments consistent with established potentials.
    Maintains necessary personal contact with key customer management, trade groups and key industry personnel to ascertain that maximum sales potential is being achieved.

    Keeps abreast of the current trends in the industry and in particular with new products, prices, competitive activity, etc.
    Assists in the development of sales policies from the standpoint of their effect on sales volume, selling expense and trade relations;
    Implements programs developed by the marketing department with regards to pricing policies, advertising/promotional programs, etc.
    Works with the finance department in the collection of accounts receivable and cooperates in adhering to the company credit policy.
    Reviews activity reports, expense reports and sales statistics.
    Travels quarterly with sales representatives.
    Develops, obtains approval and executes promotion programs consistent with marketing strategy in conjunction with the Marketing and Sales Management.
    Performs any other duties as may reasonably assigned.

Deliver $9M to $10M in sales Supervision of 5 sales representatives
