Job Description
Responsibilities & Attributes:
1) Marketing and Business Development Support
Leverage his/her general business knowledge to provide proactive consultation and support to Executives, Operational Managers (Regional and Service Line) and Sales team members on business initiatives, sales objectives/plans:
Support the Business Development/Marketing component of the individual group/office annual business plans by providing relevant information and strategies to business leaders; Meet with each group/office during the preparation of the plans and throughout the year
Ensure that the business plans for each group/office have specific identifiable initiatives and actions that align with company strategic goals
Work with the COO, business leaders sales team members and perform regular follow-up of business plan initiatives and review and report on implementation (this will involve frequent travel to outside offices)
Perform market research and data mining for specific business lines or regions in order to support business development tactics at the Executive and Operational Management level
Identify and present ideas and solutions to improve selling and marketing activities/practices
Work collaboratively with Sales team members in order to continuously improve sales strategies and tactics
Lead monthly focus group meetings, working with the COO and business leaders to develop the agenda, supporting materials and provide updates on all key marketing and business development activities
Collaborate with counterparts across the country to maximize national and local marketing impact through sharing of best practices, and reporting and analysis of quarterly activity and results
Develop and manage online presence, including continuous updating and monitoring of web site content and design
Develop and manage all electronic communication to clients, including e-newsletters, announcements, etc.
2) Financial and Information Management
Under direction of the COO and working collaboratively with Executives, Operational Managers (Regional and Service Line) and Sales team members perform the following:
Regular reviews and analysis of the performance of groups, offices’ and company’s marketing expenditure
Introduce new business (primarily business development and operations) performance measures that provide relevant data for the Executive to make key decisions and improve overall business practices
Support the COO by preparing analysis of identified strategic and operational business plan initiatives
Be responsible for the CRM tool, including management, implementation, training and maintenance of the database.
Identify how CRM can be more effectively leveraged to improve business development across the company and present to the Executive Committee
Implement full deployment of CRM as identified in (d)
Develop, implement and communicate trend analysis of client audits and client satisfaction programs
3) Management of the Marketing Support Team
Motivate and develop the Marketing/Support Team, including:
- Establish accountabilities for each staff member and set performance expectations with each
- Monitor performance of each staff member
- Coach staff to understand how they can maximize their support to the business units
- Communicate feedback and provide areas of improvements to each
- Steer activities of marketing staff to ensure that marketing initiatives and activities are aligned to regional and company strategic, business and sales plans
- Oversee the RFP process and protocols and work with the Proposal Coordinator to continuously improve submissions and communicate best practices
- Develop departmental expense budgets
Qualifications:
- University degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field with an MBA
- 3-5 years’ experience in marketing/business/sales within a service based industry
- 3-5 years’ supervisory or management experience is a must
- Experience using CRM, Microsoft Office, Photoshop and AutoCAD
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in strategic planning and execution of marketing programs
- Must have experience with financial analysis, profitability modeling and expenditures
- Ability to present to Senior Management and Executives
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and pay attention to fine details
- Consulting or Environmental industry experience is considered an asset
Other:
Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment and shall possess a high level of oral and written communication skills which are essential to the position. This position will require work related travel, therefore a valid driver’s license insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated).
