Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assume the role of Team Leader – Commercial Insurance, for a National Program. The successful candidate will be an individual with strong leadership, marketing and underwriting skills, who will deliver a profitable book of business. You will be responsible for coaching and developing a group of underwriters who handle commercial business, working with our marketing group to manage our broker force, and working closely with other underwriting teams and consultants to ensure underwriting integrity in our business segments.

What you will achieve in this role:
• Develop and coach staff, providing strategic communication and creating positive change.
• Drive employee engagement.
• Manage a portfolio of Commercial Property and Automobile business, positively contributing to the Region’s underwriting results.
• Work with our Sales team and broker partners to profitably grow your team’s portfolio of business.
• Implement corporate underwriting strategies for all lines of business.
• Deliver brilliant service to both internal and external customers.
• Work with Senior Leadership and Consultants to develop and deliver team business goals.
• Provide training opportunities and encourage the development of Underwriters.
• Ensure compliance with governance and licensing controls.
• Communicate business results to Senior Leadership on an on-going basis.

• 5+ years of experience with Commercial Lines Underwriting.
• Team Leader Experience in an asset
• Completion of CIP designation an asset.
• Completion of FCIP designation an asset.
