We are seeking an HR Market Segment Leader/People Consultant for the Prairies Region, which encompasses our Saskatoon and Winnipeg offices. The position will be located in Saskatoon. The HR Market Segment Leader/People Consultant reports directly to the HR Leader – Geographies and also has a dotted line” reporting relationship to the Prairies Market Segment Leadership Team (Market Segment Leader and Office Managing Partners), and to the Service Line HR Leaders.
The incumbent will be responsible for the overall execution of key HR processes working with the Business People Leaders, Service Line HR Leaders, Total Rewards team, and Shared Services team. The incumbent will also assist the Prairies Market Segment directly in executing market segment people plans, and be an advisor on people related matters, with a primary focus on overall success of EY and engagement of our people.
Responsibilities:
1. Serves as a trusted business partner for the Market Segment Leader, Office Managing Partners, and other senior leaders in our Saskatoon and Winnipeg offices.
2. Acts as central point of contact for the Prairies Market Segment Team for providing an integrated view of the Canadian People Strategy, and how it impacts the local market.
3. Develops a deep understanding of the business needs of the market segment, of its people and people issues, and ensures successful implementation of initiatives in line with the Canadian national and service line strategies.
4. In coordination with the Service Line HR leaders, Business People Leaders, Total Rewards team and Shared Services team, ensures effective execution of key HR processes, including recruiting, orientation, performance management, compensation & benefits, career development, integration processes and programs, promotions, exit interviews and terminations, and alumni relations.
5. Serves as the first point of contact on employee relations issues; manages/handles issues as appropriate (communicating with Business People Leaders and Service Line HR leaders); escalates issues within HR as needed.
6. Coordinates with shared services groups to ensure proper handling of HR related administration.
To qualify, candidates must have:
* Strong understanding of the professional services industry, preferably acquired within EY
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
* HR designation preferred, but not required
* Minimum 6-8 years related experience
* Experience and proficiency in change management and strategic HR planning
* Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with all levels of staff
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High level of comfort with HR IT systems and processes
* Consistently positive attitude
