Position description:
EY’s Professional Practice team supports assurance Partners and teams in delivering efficient high quality audits and provides leadership on complex accounting, auditing and reporting matters. The Professional Practice team handles multiple non-routine tasks and thrives on the challenge of resolving various accounting and reporting issues. The position involves significant contact with and mentorship from Professional Practice Partners and Senior Managers and extensive contact with Partners across the firm. The position will provide opportunities to work on select high impact assignments in assurance, including accounting advisory, internal quality initiatives, and market facing activities.

You will work on or review high impact audit and financial reporting matters, such as acquisition and other complex transactions, prospectuses and other regulatory filings. Your work will form the basis for firm technical accounting opinions. Your success will depend on developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key business decision makers and various clients across different industries.

Managers will be responsible to monitor select IFRS, US GAAP and statutory developments and to write related summaries and newsletters for firm and client distribution.

Managers will also develop and deliver internal and external training sessions. You will receive presentation training and direct Partner support before delivering such training sessions.

Managers completing a successful two-year or longer Professional Practice rotation will possess corporate reporting expertise and expanded professional relationships that will enhance their opportunities for career advancement.

To qualify for this highly visible position with excellent potential for career advancement, candidates must have:
3 to 4 years of demonstrated success in the audit of publicly accountable enterprises in an auditor oversight jurisdiction
A CA/CPA designation
A critical thinker with strong written and oral communication skills
An ability to analyze and summarize complex fact patterns
An aptitude to conduct detailed accounting research
An interest in the statutory context of financial reporting
An ability and desire to work closely with clients and colleagues at peer and more senior levels
