Reporting to the Oilseeds Accounting Analyst III, the Accounting Analyst I- Canola/Pea Desk is responsible for the successful execution of all Generic Canola and Pea movement in Western Canada. This includes processing and analyzing daily entries and documents needed for the Generic Canola and Peas, including foreign exchange risk reporting, purchases, sales invoicing, cash applications, and account and inventory reconciliations.
You will also be accountable for the financial accuracy and integrity of the two Pea product line Profit and Loss Statements.

Principal Accountabilities: 
50% - Prepare all necessary accounting invoices and entries for all East/West Generic canola and yellow peas program. Process and maintain CGC errors and in transit weekly reporting. Follow up with CSR's at locations when needed.
30% - Ensure the financial integrity of the Yellow Pea Profit and Loss Statements. This includes all necessary month-end accruals and adjustments are done both accurately and timely. Prepare account reconciliations and inventory reconciliation (daily) and investigate discrepancies for all assigned balance sheet accounts monthly.
10% - Provide upper management with weekly Foreign Exchange position reporting.
10% - Provide customer service to the locations as a participant on the Help Desk. Improve Processes and implement new procedures. Work with Grain Accounting, Merchandising and Forwarding to develop efficiencies in processes/procedures for reducing redundancy and ensuring adherence to internal control minimums. Provide back up and assistance to other team members. Execute performance and development goals.

Skills:

Required:
Completion of Level 2 of an accounting designation or equivalent work experience Ability to work independently with minimal direction and work effectively as a team member Demonstrated initiative, analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task to meet various timelines Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada on a non-temporary basis

Preferred:
Knowledge of excel, JDE, Agrosoft experience Knowledge of grain accounting, grain contracts, and terms
