Job Overview The Cattle Marketing and Risk Manager (trainee) will report directly to the CEO/President and will be responsible for cattle ownership and risk management strategy development and implementation. Required Qualifications Education and Experience:
University Degree in Agriculture with a major in finance or economics preferred
2 to 3 years’ experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to build strong relationships
Ability to make informed decisions
The Cattle Marketing & Risk Manager will have strong knowledge in:
- Monte Carlo procurement methodology and VaR models
- Cattle production systems knowledge and experience
- Cattle marketing systems; cash, Grid, formula, carcass based metrics, and others
- Cash, futures and contracting systems for cattle trade
- Strong data analysis skills including statistical methodologies
- Internal information systems utilization and financial modelling
- Cattle trade and negotiating skills
- Canadian and International Beef Industry
