Production Technician – Summer Position
HyTech Production Ltd. is an independent seed production company based in Lethbridge, Alberta with additional operations in British Columbia and Chile. HyTech is an industry leader in providing seed production services to plant breeders and seed distribution companies from around the world.
HyTech Production Ltd. is seeking Production Technicians to assist with the 2014 seed production season. The primary function of this role is to assist the Production Agronomists in managing successful seed production.
Technicians will spend the majority of their time in-field doing crop scouting for weeds, disease and insect identification, and recording/reporting observations.
Technicians will also be required to operate different pieces of field equipment and haul 5th wheel trailers during the season.
Extended work hours at various times throughout the production season are required.
Supervision of weed removal crews may also be required.
Qualifications:
- A valid driver’slicense.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to work outdoors and extended hours at times
- Experience operating farm/field equipment would be an asset – training will be provided.
- Experience or familiarity with seed production would be an asset.
