Senior Research Scientist – Formulation Chemistry

NutriAg offers a wide range of state-of-the-art environmentally responsible agricultural bio-chemicals and specialized plant nutrients (including micro-elements) used for foliar feeding and fertigation. Our products are manufactured in-house and are distributed to worldwide specialty markets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  •     Manage R&D lab and personnel.
  •     Design and execute bench experiments for the development of new product formulations.
  •     Coordinate experiments with NutriAg R&D staff (from various departments).
  •     Investigate new product concepts.
  •     Experience with scale-up procedures and downstream processing.
  •     Writing standard operation procedures.
  •     Perform research with a high degree of independence.
  •     Excellent record-keeping skills.
  •     Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Qualifications and Characteristics:
  •     Minimum M.Sc. in Chemistry or related field with industrial experience.
  •     New graduates need not apply.
  •     Significant experience in an R&D setting doing formulation work.
  •     Understand complex mixtures and their physical properties.
  •     Experience with Agricultural product formulation an asset.
  •     Knowledge of carbohydrates, plant extracts and fertilizers highly desirable.
  •     Good interpersonal, written and oral communication.
  •     Excellent analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  •     Must be creative, highly organized, self-motivated, perceptive, and innovative.
  •     Must be proficient using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalents.
