Advertisement Key Business Accountabilities

Monsanto is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Stewardship Team as a Compliance Associate.  The successful candidate will work with internal and external customers to support training, validation, and measurement of compliance with government and company policies/procedures that facilitate the shipment, importation, and field testing of genetically modified plant materials as well as crop protection products and biological materials in Canada.


Control audit budgets and payments to external auditors for field operations.
Coordinate the scheduling, training and deployment of auditors to validate compliance to stewardship plans internally and externally (includes licensees).
Enable or support efforts to improve efficiency of stewardship compliance internally and externally.
Cross functional support and facilitation of Product Life Cycle activities for biotech traits and chemistry on a regional basis.
Facilitate or support Stewardship Policy and Procedures development within the Canadian Region to assure adherence to regulatory agency and stewardship requirements.
Support, as required, validation of Trait Quality requirements within Canadian region.
Support cross functional meetings to help drive increased awareness and compliance of Stewardship requirements.
Facilitate training initiative for cross functional compliance training.
Identify, initiate and lead improvement projects, as appropriate.
Facilitate and support the collection of functional metric and consolidate reporting.


Scope of the Job
The successful candidate will:

Work closely with internal and external customers, auditors, and regulatory agencies.

Gather the appropriate information required to maintain accurate records of the status of all confined field trials.

Conduct compliance training for researchers.

Summarize, analyze and produce required reports to support compliance efforts.
Monitor and track use of electronic data collections systems to assess compliance.
Provide guidance, technical support, and clarification to researchers responsible for trial activities to ensure stewardship compliance.

Support internal responsible persons in lifecycle management activities across biotech, chemistry and biological products to document accurate and timely documentation.

Provide guidance and support for implementation of stewardship requirements within various quality management systems within the Canadian region. 


Qualifications:
Core Business/Functional Skills and Education

  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Experience on quality management systems and auditing (i.e. ISO) (3-5 years).
  • Expertise in MS Office and experience in electronic data capture systems.
  • Results orientation, excellent organizational, problem solving, and record keeping skills.
  • Experience on data management and systems to support audit programs.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and comfortable in team environments.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
