Intern position from May 1, 2014 to August 31, 2014. The Production Research Intern will assist the Research Agronomist with Production Research projects for seed corn/soybean. The intern will play an important role in performing and managing small plot and seed field experiments where they will collect high quality experimental data.
The intern will be exposed to a number of duties performed by DuPont Pioneer in the day to day activities of seed research. The intern will be responsible for assisting with planting, managing, and observing small plot experimental trials.
The intern will be expected to scout, and perform weed/pest control as necessary in experimental plots. The intern will be responsible for learning and taking observations on physiological development and recording high quality experiment data.

Skills:
Pursuing a degree in an agriculture related field; completion of first year or above. The intern must possess a basic knowledge of farming practices, a thorough attention to detail, great communication skills and the ability to work long hours with little supervision. A valid driver's license and safe driving record is required as the intern will be expected to travel long distances between experimental locations. An interest in agricultural research and the ability to operate farm machinery is a preferred asset.
