Job Overview
As a Senior Technical Discipline Manager - UNIX, you will join CIBC’s Technology department to lead a technical discipline (Unix) to ensure consistent adherence to policies and procedures and documentation.

Lead the team to ensure projects and initiatives are executed as they relate to the design, implementation and support of major infrastructure technology in a multi platform environment

Job Requirements
– Track and analyze production problems for specified platform and implement corrective actions.
– Serve as ultimate point of escalation for production problems that cannot be resolved by Global Command Centre Technical Specialists.
– Monitor service delivery patterns and ensures customer service agreements are met.
– Maintain awareness of emerging trends and customer requirements and implement upgrades or changes across shifts as appropriate.

 - Provide technical leadership, standards and best practices to infrastructure teams during infrastructure design and build phases of initiatives/projects.

 - Determine standards and roadmaps for hardware  and software . Decide how infrastructure is built and recommend infrastructure standards for organization wide initiatives based on area of expertise.

What We’re Looking For:

– Successful candidates must exhibit CIBC’s values of trust, team work, and accountability

– Must have Bachelors or equivalent degree in related field

– Must have 5+ years experience managing a team within the IT environment

–  Must have 10 years of experience working in the UNIX environment with technologies such as Solaris, Red Hat, SUSI, AIX and HP-UX

– Should have experience or a good understanding of databases such SQL, Oracle Sybase and DB2

– Must have superb technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve various technical issues

– Must be able to understand customer needs in order to provide excellent service

– Must have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to manager multiple priorities

– Must have knowledge and experience with effectively managing changes to the production environment and technology-based assets or the organization

– Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
