The Graduate Leadership Program (GLP) aims to develop future leaders of RBC. It is a unique, accelerated leadership development program that offers an enterprise-wide view. Based on the principle that leaders learn best from experience and exposure to a breadth and variety of challenges, the GLP provides a forum to learn about RBC as a diverse, multi-faceted, global organization. Explore the challenges of working on complex business issues requiring strategic thinking, creativity and strong analytical skills. Program description:
A two year leadership development program that provides experience in and exposure to RBC business platforms and functions. It gives you a high level view of the organization and understanding of bank’s operations.
GLP Associates will be placed in a series of assignments across the organization that are approximately six months long and may occur in any RBC business or function:
Personal & Commercial Banking
Wealth Management
Capital Markets, including Enterprise wide Strategy
Insurance
Technology and Operations
Functions which includes Risk Management, Finance, Corporate Treasury and more
These assignments may include working directly with clients, researching new products and markets, structuring deals, assessing company and industry risk and exploring strategic options for business growth.
Associates will also benefit from one-to-one mentoring by executives for the duration of the program. Upon completion, Associates build their careers with RBC in areas of the organization where their interests, skills and leadership capability can be best leveraged for organizational impact.
What you’ll need to succeed:
MBA with minimum four years full-time, continuous work experience in any industry
Track record of leadership and excellence in academic and extracurricular activities
Strong interest in the financial services industry and RBC
Proven client service orientation
Global mindset
Learning agility and genuine openness to a broadening experience
Ability to achieve results in the context of complexity, ambiguity and constant change
Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluency in a second language is a significant asset or global work experience
Willingness to take a short term assignment within and outside the Greater Toronto Area and/or outside Canada
Genuine desire to manage and lead others to achieve outstanding results
Please note: This is a program designed for individuals with strong leadership capability and a willingness to build a breadth of knowledge and experience at RBC. Candidates with career aspirations within a specific business or function at RBC should explore programs and roles relevant to those areas.
