Position Purpose:

If you answered ‘Yes’ to the above, then you may be a good fit for this position of Manager, Business Architecture at RBC, where you will use business design thinking and models to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation.

Business Architecture works with various RBC Lines of Business and Functional areas, partnering, advising and guiding senior executives in translating their business strategies into portfolios of initiatives for implementation.  This is done in order to support the attainment of business targets related to growth, efficiency and optimization, thus enabling the business and operational units of RBC to deliver on their strategic vision and business objectives.  As a Manager in the group, you will help the business teams optimize their portfolio of change initiatives, while providing traceability in ensuring the appropriate prioritization and alignment RBC globally.

This exciting position requires significant thought leadership, conceptual thinking and business acumen, and has a high degree of interaction and exposure to senior management across RBC. You will be required to understand the relationship between complex business realities in order to help drive multi year, transformational change.

Key Accountabilities:
    Using the Target Operating Model framework, assist business units in articulating their vision & objectives.
    Identify how a business unit can evolve their operating model to align with their strategic direction.
    Determine how to break down the effort to achieve the vision into manageable pieces.
    Assess the current level of business capability maturity and identify a targeted level of maturity based on business needs and objectives and modify or create business capabilities to achieve targeted levels.
    Ensure strategic alignment across the enterprise and identify leverage opportunities.
    Identify common, reusable business capabilities that can be consumed by groups across the enterprise.
    Help the business units in defining their execution plans usingmehta a set of prioritized and sequenced initiatives.

Knowledge / Experience:

  •     MBA (or a minimum of 3-5 years relevant business experience)
  •     Strong business acumen and conceptual thinking skills.
  •     Ability to handle ambiguity.
  •     Adaptability and humility.
  •     Strong relationship management and facilitation skills.
  •     Effective communication and interpersonal skills (facilitation, influence).
  •     Collaborative, resourceful and team-oriented.
  •     Thought and change leadership skills.
  •     Knowledge of business modeling and business case development.
  •     Analytical and detail-oriented.
  •     Previous consulting/financial services experience (not mandatory).
