To support operational growth RS Line is looking for a Human Resources / Recruitment Advisor to join their Human Resources and Labour Relations team!

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, and working daily with Operations Management - the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Accountabilities:
The accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate compliance with, interpret and apply applicable Labour Standards, policy and legislative requirements such as:
o Employment Standards
o Human Rights
o RS Line Policies and Procedures
o Temporary Foreign Worker - Labour Market Opinion (LMO)

- End to end recruitment and selection of employees including developing job descriptions, posting, attending career fairs, short-listing, and interviewing

- Building relationships with Supervisory and Management staff to understand their specific needs and assist them in achieving their workforce related objectives

- Coach / assist Managers and Supervisors to develop and apply strong performance management skills, and resolve recruitment and labour relations issues

- Develop and provide education, support and training to front line leaders regarding processes for managing and leading the workforce

- Participate in the development of new Human Resources and Labour Relations policies as well as strengthening existing policies and procedures

- Assist Supervisors / Managers and liaise with RS Line benefit service providers related to the management of STD / LTD claims, attendance management and return to work accommodations

- Participate in the development and delivery of the HR Strategic Business Plan

- Provide expertise and/or input into classification and compensation matters

- New employee on-boarding and orientation

- Manage internal retention processes

Requirements:
As the successful candidate, you have:
- Graduated from an accredited college or university with a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Management or Administration

- Experience / familiarity with industrial work environments and the associated requirements of:

o Construction employment standards (overtime, overtime pay, vacation pay, general holiday pay, and termination pay)
o Hours of work
o Drug and alcohol – safety sensitive requirements
o Trades and apprentices

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required

- Willingness to travel, support project work schedules, and pursue further professional development

- Proven ability to make decisions where only general policies and procedures are available requiring application of judgement and independent action

You possess:
- 5-7 years directly related experience in an HR / Recruitment capacity

- Experience in construction, utility or powerline industries is preferred

- Preference will be given to candidates holding Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or equivalent in good standing

- An understanding of business drivers and the ability to influence and facilitate the development and implementation of HR / Recruiting plans, goals and objectives

- Experience developing, coordinating, and managing projects with a wide variety of key stakeholders

- The ability to work effectively in and contribute to a team and diverse environment

Additional Details:
This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Complete background screening and criminal record check
