- Define and attain the designated Product on Ground sales goals of strategic products, as outlined in the performance planning process, within a defined geographic territory.
– In conjunction with the respective Regional Sales Manager, develop objectives for performance evaluation as well as incentive measurement. – Field level market development of applicable products, performing various activities which include, but are not exclusive to, retailer training, targeted retail sales calls, targeted grower sales calls, targeted grower meetings, targeted customer tours and industry trade shows.
– Produce a detailed Territory Analysis and Plan, including Retail Business Plans, on a annual basis, providing a formal review and renew of this plan at a semi-annually interval.
– Manage and resolve retail and grower product inquires in a timely and professional manner, striving to maintain key customers.
– Utilize the database to target, update and record information and plan activities pertaining to retailers and growers.
– Operate a defined geographic territory within specified expense budgets which include, Travel and Living Allowance, Territory Initiatives, Targeted Grower Meetings and Targeted Grower Tours, and utilizing these initiatives to build customer relationships/intimacy.
– Provide team with information on customers and competitive activities in territory.
– Mature Sales Representatives will exemplify leadership in areas including regional or national teams, special project initiation and mentoring of new Sales Reps.
– Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Agriculture or Business- 2 – 4 years, or accumulated equivalent, of experience in a various disciplines including sales, marketing, technical services or research and development.
– Very strong oral and written communication skills in areas of public speaking and report generation.
– Ability to initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships in a professional manner.
– Possess the ability to be highly self driven and motivated and innovative.
– Thrives in an independent work environment, yet excels in a team atmosphere.
– Strong organization skills in areas of time management and priority allocation.
– Moderate computer skills are required.
– Sound understanding of agriculture, with a focus on crop production practices.
– Possesses a working understanding of business and sales.
– Agricultural experience or background knowledge is strongly beneficial.
