Description:
Bombardier Transportation is seeking one Health & Safety student to work in their Mississauga office. The student position will be offered for the Fall term, from late September to December 2013 with the possibility to extend.

Reporting to the Manager, Health, Safety, Environment, the successful candidate will assist in the development and maintenance of our Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. This role will interact with all members of the operation.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the following areas of health, safety and environment:

· Develop, review and update health & safety policies and procedures

· Hazard analysis of activities performed and review of job safety analyses

· Maintenance of HSE reporting system to manage HSE statistics

· Develop and delivery of safety training

· Develop wellness initiatives (lunch & learn, bulletin boards, newsletter)

· Develop environmental initiatives

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
· Working towards an Occupational Health & Safety or related degree

· Solid computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)

· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

· Able to work independently and as part of a team

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Commitment to working safely
