Job Description:
Precision Sales Agronomists are the main point of contact between Farmers Edge and the customer who focus on sales to customers to help grow the business, serve existing customers and provide sound agronomic advice to producers.
Core Duties
· Focus on business development by making sales calls to potential customers, collaborating with centers of influence, and building relationships with current customers to expand services.
· Attend trade shows and set up farm meetings to present services and sign up customers.
·Co-ordinate the activities of soil samplers, field scouts, and tech support specialists.
·Manage learning and growth activities including attending seminars and conferences
·Proficiency in Precision Ag data management and zone mapping software.
·Interpretation of laboratory reports and development of fertility management recommendations.
·Maintain Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and/or P.Ag accreditation.
Job Requirements
·Proven track record in field scouting and agricultural sales will be considered an asset
·Familiarity with farm equipment with a focus on variable rate technology
·Knowledge of Western Canadian crop production practices including soil fertility
·Understanding of sales and service principles
·Strong aptitude with computer and software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
·Ability to read, write and speak publically in English
·Valid drivers license for province of residence
Education and Experience
.Diploma or degree from a recognized agricultural college or degree in agriculture or related field with emphasis on soil science, plant science and crop production.
