Role Purpose:
To maximize territory sales and profitability by working closely with retail locations and selected growers.
Excellent customer service will be delivered by offering services above and beyond just basic agronomic needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet or ideally exceed territory sales targets and objectives by:
- Focusing on maintaining strong relationships with F2F grower customers
- Acting as primary liaison for all retail accounts within territory which includes developing and implementing annual business plans to influence end-user demand
- Focusing on micromarket must win battles and micromarket plans for territory growth
- Responsible for trade shows, tours and product launches for crop protection and seeds within their territory
- May be expected to represent district on account teams
- May act as the primary contact for Key Account personnel within their territory
- Liaises with Seed Care Specialist to develop territory opportunities
- Communicates with Campaign teams to provide input on development of field marketing opportunities in the micromarket
- Conducts product inquiries and liaises with appropriate internal resources on resolution of product inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Agriculture, Marketing, Commerce or Science required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Sales experience in a related field (Crop Protection or Seed Industry Preferred); Proven success in developing and maintaining relationships with grower and retail customers
- First hand knowledge of farming operations
- Knowledge of seed and crop protection industries including agronomics, general cropping practices, agricultural technology and trends and requirements for pest control
- Strong technical knowledge of Syngenta and competitive products, new and existing technology
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work within a team in a matrix environment
- Proven capabilities in the areas of: influencing, negotiation, strategizing and innovating
- Excellent communications (oral and written)
- Strong problem solving/decision making skills
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task
- Skilled with Microsoft Office
