This position is responsible for accurate and timely analysis of HACCP records, raw materials, finished products, and in-process sampling.
As a member of the team you will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
Verifies HACCP, Regulatory and Food safety programs for compliance (eg cooking, cooling, metal detection checks);
Collects environmental samples for microbiological analysis (eg swab samples of conveyors, equipment, walls, floors etc);
Monitors Pre-Operational inspections; Verifies label compliance;
Verifies packaging tare weights;
Collects samples of food products for microbiological and chemical analysis;
Monitors processing procedures;
investigates food safety incidences; Initiates, traces and monitors product on QA Hold;
Prepares daily reports of inspection results;
Performs duties on shift work;
Other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a fast paced food industry environment and have relevant post-secondary education (preferred university degree or college diploma in related field);
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP principles and programs;
Demonstrated ability to take initiative to complete assignments;
Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook with a passion for accuracy; Ability to get things done within a decentralised environment with minimal supervision;
Positive and professional approach with willingness to learn;
Ability to co-ordinate and co-operate with members of other department; Proven ability to work in a safe and efficient manner;
Good written and oral communication skills.
