Ontario Swine Improvement Inc. (OSI), located in Innerkip, Ontario, is dedicated to the improvement of swine genetics by developing and delivering programs, products and expertise to achieve excellence in the global pork industry. As well, OSI operates and manages two A.I. studs in Ontario. OSI provides the highest level of quality and service to its' genetic suppliers, commercial producers and swine genetics exporters marketing world class swine genetics in Canada and internationally.

OSI is seeking to fill the following position:

GENERAL MANAGER
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager is the Chief Operating Officer and is accountable for the short-term and long-term viability, growth, and continuous operation of OSI.

The successful applicant will be a self-starter with high energy, able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while keeping abreast of changes and anticipating outcomes. In addition, you will have a thorough knowledge of the swine industry including knowledge and experience in swine genetics and Artificial Insemination.

You will also have superior communication, and people management skills, along with a strong background in business management with the ability to manage a sizable staff.  You will maintain and build business relationships with members of the Ontario and Canadian swine genetics industry in order to continue to develop and market world class Canadian swine genetics.  This may require a willingness to travel within Canada and internationally.

Your qualifications will ideally include a University degree or diploma, preferably in agriculture, along with a minimum of three (3) years hands on experience in a senior management position and a working knowledge of PC applications in a Windows environment.
