JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the incumbent will oversee the continued development of the Mass & Grocery business for Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec by actively promoting, marketing and executing pet food strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage existing customer and sales within the assigned geographic territory;
Prospect and develop new business with the assigned geographic territory;
Focus efforts on key business drivers: territory coverage, distribution, product placement etc;
Promote brand awareness and growth within the territory with current and new customers;
Ensure our branded products receive maximum store level exposure through in-store merchandising, product knowledge and staff training;
Allocate resources and tools to achieve plan targets, monitor performance against budget and proactively take corrective actions where necessary;
Review claims requests and manage inventory by store to minimize product claims;
Work closely with operations and our distribution partners to insure superior customer service;
Work on process improvement projects with other members of pet products team;
Monitor, track and report on all market place trends and activity;
Some overnight travel will be required.
PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:
Post-secondary education in Sales and Marketing or a closely related discipline;
Minimum of five (5) years sales or marketing experience in consumer packaged goods;
Bilingualism (English/French) required;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Possess good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
