DuPont Pioneer is currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor at our Lethbridge Production Location. Responsible for safe, effective and efficient management of plant production processes, typically at the location or country level. Plans for production resources (manpower, machinery, equipment and tools, facilities and raw materials) needed to develop high quality seed on-time to meet distribution, delivery and stock transport schedules. Manages internal and external relationships. Manages both plant production operations through subordinate staff having full accountabilities in their respective areas. Provides leadership and decisions to staff on operational questions related to their areas and responsibilities. This job progression covers both commercial and parent seed production. May participate in field activities as determined by Production Location Manager.

Manage Human Capital
Consult with Human Resources for guidance and to ensure compliance.Oversee and participate as needed in making or approving personnel decisions (hiring, promotion, discipline, status changes, merit and rewards administration, etc.).

Operational
Plan organize and direct the plant operations which ensure the most effective return on assets. Reviewing and approving plans for the control of planned production output, budget spending, material efficiency, engineering/maintenance effectiveness. Manage the daily plant operations which may include, but not limited to: receiving, bulk management, conditioning, maintenance, inventory management, warehouse and distribution, ensuring on-time delivery to meet both business and customer needs.

Champion Business Improvement and Productivity Initiatives. Utilizing DuPont Production Systems (DPS) to identify and prioritize productivity improvement opportunities at location.

Tactical Planning (3-6 months). Participate in the labour planning needs assessment for all regular, temporary, and seasonal staff. Provide input and discuss proposals for the development of the plant business plan.

Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in related area and five to seven (5 -7) years experience in production operations or relevant education and experience required. Supervisory or leadership experience important. Responsible for overseeing workflow and requires ability to look several months forward to anticipate labour needs, resource needs, space requirements, regulatory demands etc. Operations knowledge combined with priority management skills and the ability to supervise/handle multiple tasks at one time is critical. Must solve problems and make decisions in time sensitive conditions.
