DuPont Pioneer is currently recruiting for Production Technician/Maintenance position at its Chatham Production Location. The successful candiate will perform a variety of tasks associated with general plant operations and field activities with an emphasis on maintenance related duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform any or all of the tasks associated with general plant operations and field activities:

Support plant and field operations by assisting in maintenance activities on equipment for various processes such as harvest, conditioning, treating, and packaging. Assist in seasonal prep work including preparing equipment and assuring proper set-up, calibration, operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment, machines, and facilities.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to working in other areas of the plant operations.

Skills:
Education and Experience:
Grade 12 Secondary Diploma with 1-3 years related maintenance work. Related post-secondary education and technical training an asset.

Competencies:
Knowledge of production agriculture/production plant operations and associated machinery. Basic millwright, carpentry and welding skills a definite asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, reliability, work accuracy, and timeliness are essential. Competent computer skills required. Must be mechanically inclined, organized, self-motivated, flexible, and able to work with limited supervision. Ability to climb and/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods. Position involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting up to 60 lbs. Willingness to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions. Willing and able to work in a variety of areas (field, plant, warehouse). Overtime hours including weekend work required during seasonal peaks. Training for all associated tasks is essential to job. Valid Class “G” driver’s license required.
