Primary Responsibilities
Analysis of agricultural research samples
Expertise using and maintaining ICP-OES equipment
Liquid, plant tissue and soil sample preparation for ICP-OES analysis
Experience with Turbidity, SG, Viscosity and pH measurements
Ability to create research and analysis reports
Qualifications:
A post-secondary education, min BSc. or MSc. in analytical chemistry or related discipline.
A minimum of 3 years of experience, in a laboratory is required.
Experience in an agricultural setting is required.
Knowledge of soil and tissue analysis highly desired.
Familiar with official accredited methods such as AOAC and AOCS methodology.
Experience with formulation chemistry an asset.
Able to work well under pressure with high work-load but maintain accurate results.
Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well independently and with others.
Proven time management skills and strong attention to detail.
Extended hours and shiftwork may be required from time to time.
Knowledge of ISO standards an asset.
Must be proficient using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalents
