As the Grain Marketing Advisor, you will be accountable for
generating consulting revenues, and managing and delivering grain
marketing services as part of our lead with Distinctive Value Solutions
strategy. You will work directly with the sales and consulting team and
our customers to provide grain marketing solutions for our farm
customers.
By providing superior technical information and
consulting service, you will help our farm customers make better
decisions for their business.
These services will differentiate
Cargill AgHorizons from our competitors, leading to stronger business
relationships with our customers, and in turn, resulting in incremental
sales and margin opportunities for Cargill.
Principal Accountabilities:
60%
- Manage and deliver Cargill's comprehensive Grain Marketing Services
(e.g. MarketSense and FarmSense) to farm customers. Assist customers
with their grain marketing through the delivery of market reports,
customized grain marketing strategy, education, and risk management
tools as well as individual farm cash flow and contribution margin
analysis
25% - In coordination with the Sales
Representatives and location teams, identify, prospect and sell Grain
Marketing Services to farm customers in order to achieve financial
targets
15% - Provide technical support as a grain
marketing resource for the location team; attend location team meetings,
facilitate workshops, and provide input for crop reports and grain
marketing strategies
Skills:
Required:
2 - 3 years sales experience
Specialized knowledge of grain marketing and risk management
Working knowledge of grain futures, options and markets
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of the Canadian grain industry, agricultural production and farm management
Strong computer skills and attention to detail to create and maintain spreadsheets, databases and presentations
Strong sales aptitude
Excellent organizational skills
Persistence and resilience
Strong problem solving and decision making skills
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada on a non-temporary basis
Preferred:
Post-secondary education or training in Business, Risk Management, Sales or Agriculture
Excellent comprehension of Risk Management Tools
Consulting experience
Ability to coach others
