CHS has an opportunity in our Country Operations Retail operations in Beiseker, AB (approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Calgary). We are looking for an Accountant to support the accounting functions for our retail facilities; ensuring timely and accurate financial information is reported. You must be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You must be authorized to work in Canada.

You will:
    Assist in creating timely and accurate financial statements.
    Confirm daily cash activities and prepare necessary journal entries.
    Process invoicing, accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R), and balance to general ledger
    Reconcile monthly bank statements
    Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports for management
    Assist with budget preparation process.
    Apply and maintain customer prepay balances.
    Provide supporting documentation for general insurance issues.
    Promptly report to supervisor any customer and/or employee complaints or concerns.
    Work effectively with patrons, management and fellow employees.
    Available to work extended hours when needed.
    Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (required):
    4 year Accounting degree or 5 years accounting/bookkeeping experience
    MS Office: Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications (desired):
    Agric accounting software
    AS400 experience preferably in JDE Accounting Systems
    Knowledge or experience in Agriculture industry
    2 years’ experience working with financial statement preparation and GL systems
    Understand GAAP – Generally Accepted Accounting Practices
