Salary Range $32.47 - $40.57 per hour (PayBand 9)
The Job Evaluation Consultant is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the College’s Job Evaluation process. The position provides senior level guidance and advice to clients regarding Centennial’s job evaluation policies and procedures, including job analysis, job description content, position inventory, and evaluation rationale. The incumbent will also participate in other compensation-related projects and initiatives as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Actively contributes to the design of the College’s overall Job Evaluation Program.
- Designs and manages the documentation and filing of all job evaluation records, including Committee results, supporting documents, updated and finalized job descriptions.
- Administers the College’s job evaluation process, including responding to queries regarding policies and procedures, conducting position analysis, explaining evaluation rationale for both union and non-union positions etc.
- Provides training to managers regarding job evaluation process and tools.
- Consults with managers regarding new jobs, revisions to positions and job bands.
- Acts and Colleges main liaison with Council and other colleges regarding job evaluation issues and queries.
- Actively participate in Support Job Evaluation Committee.
- Assists the Manager with research and fact-finding to prepare for Support Staff classification grievances
- Works closely with Recruiting team regarding jobs, job content, salary bands, etc.
- Works closely with Compensation team on various compensation-related projects and initiatives..
- Qualifications
- 3-year diploma / degree in Business Administration / Human Resources Management or a related discipline. CHRP or CEBS/CMS designation would be an asset.
- Five years of progressive job evaluation and compensation experience. Experience with the CAAT Administrative and Support Job Evaluation plans would be an asset.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of employment-related legislation as it relates to compensation.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills in survey data analysis, plan modelling and implementation,and job evaluation concepts and methodologies.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Well-developed client service skills.
- Proactive self-starter capable of managing multi-task assignments simultaneously.
