The Canadian Salt Company Limited is headquartered in Pointe-Claire (Québec) and employs some 861 people in its three regional sales offices, four evaporated salt plants and three rock salt mines, as well as across its Canada-wide network of warehouses and salt storage facilities. Its distribution centers are strategically located to serve Canada’s geographically dispersed markets, employing truck, rail and marine transportation.
Products made from evaporated salt (salt recovered from brine) are used in household and food products, as well as for agricultural, water softening and industrial purposes. Those made from mined rock salt are also sold to household and industrial markets for ice control, and to the water softening and general industrial trades.
The Challenge:
Reporting to the Vice president of Canadian Sales and Marketing, our National Account manager works closely with the team in achieving results according to annual account plan. He/she is responsible for business development in Major accounts. He/she is the lead hand to assigned key accounts, such as Walmart, Costco, Sears, Zellers, Lowe’s and Dollar stores, and has the challenge of ensuring a growing market in partnership with customers.
Tasks:
Management of Key Accounts and working closely in order, to develop and implement initiatives ensuring a growth of Windsor salt sales and margin.
Prospecting and developing new Accounts, having a strategic point of view of the consumer market product, to be a key player in prospecting and developing new accounts
Monitoring objectives and focusing on results to achieve annual business plan targets, to analyze the sales and data according to assigned accounts
Conducting Business Review with head office corporate accounts
Management with Broker, building a strong merchandiser relationship with the assigned broker, set objectives, train broker representatives and conduct product knowledge sessions when requested.
Provide direction to account executives in the fields
Communicating precise information to colleagues about contract and data maintenance
Represents Canadian Salt Co. and its brand Windsor salt in fairs or show.
Our requirements:
Between 5 to 7 years experience in sales, with an excellent knowledge of consumer product sales paired to a critical experience in Wal-Mart’s national sales account
Bilingual, French – English, written and spoken
Computer skills, MS Office, Excel, Word, Lotus and Powerpoint, SAP
you are well organized and have an excellent time management
you are highly self motivated, a team player, with excellent communication skills
you are available to travel 60% of your time in Canada
