(annual salary): The Bank offers a competitive total compensation package with starting salaries, based on qualifications, generally ranging between $119,738 and $149,672* (job grade 21).

Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of ITS Engineering and Security provides strategic and managerial leadership to align the technologies and design principles of Information Technology Services (ITS) with the strategic objectives of the Bank. The incumbent is accountable for the creation and maintenance of engineering standards and practices for all relevant infrastructure, platform and security elements according to best practices.
Central Responsibilities:

• develop the vision and the medium- and short-term design for infrastructure, as well as application, security and enterprise systems within the context of the broader ITS framework, and provide design engineering for ITS
• define technical strategies, guidelines and standards that balance short-term and long-term objectives in a practical manner, and provide design and engineering review services for potential solutions
• work with governance structures to ensure alignment of business objectives and executive decision making
• manage IT security operations and engineering to ensure that they align with the strategic and tactical objectives of the Bank and conform to IT standards and practices
• provide engineering support for key IT service operation processes, including problem management and identity management
• provide engineering, design and integration support to major projects to ensure that infrastructure, application, security and operations decisions are aligned with corporate strategy
• provide leadership in the definition of technical requirements and the creation of request for proposals (RFPs), request for quotations (RFQs) and related procurement activities for infrastructure, application, security and enterprise systems
• provide subject-matter leadership, advice and counsel to leadership and staff, and provide input on development roadmaps, task definition, assignments and scheduling of the introduction of new technology and product lifecycle management
• conduct or oversee research and analysis (including risk analysis) to support management decision making regarding the introduction of new technology, product lifecycle management, engineering standards and practices, technical strategies and security
• interface with Corporate Services/Security and Facilities Services to establish an IT security framework that balances IT operational/business requirements and the need for enhanced security owing to the sensitive information maintained by the Bank
• engage Enterprise Architecture to ensure that medium-term engineering principles and long-term architectural visions are aligned
• define goals and objectives and provide a clear sense of purpose to staff, allocate appropriate resources and delegate work to support the group’s ability to deliver on commitments
• motivate and influence staff toward excellence in delivery objectives
• create a healthy work climate for the unit, build employee capability, support their professional development and enable them to optimize their contribution
• develop technical and leadership skills within the team and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization
• determine resource gaps and address them appropriately
• build and manage effective and collaborative work relationships with partners/stakeholders for multiple benefits, including acquiring a better understanding of client or business line business drivers, priorities and concerns, and mitigating risks that could impede the smooth operation of the service line

Key Requirements:
• bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or other related discipline

or

• an equivalent combination of education

and

• 10 to 15 years of senior leadership and consulting roles in the areas of IT infrastructure, operations and security

in addition:
• English and French essential
• linguistic requirement: (minimum starting level) functional in second official language(training may be provided to help the selected candidate reach the required level of fully functional)
• advanced level of knowledge of relevant technology, tools and methodologies
• advanced level of knowledge of IT security design and operations
• advanced level of knowledge of infrastructure design and operations
• advanced level of knowledge of project management
• proven ability to present information clearly and concisely
