Phashtag is looking for a talented software engineer to join its team as Founding Employee no. 3. Over 80% of social media activity is image-based and Phashtag is developing cutting edge tools that allow brands to monitor, understand and act on the information contained in those images. We’re not talking pixel matching here, we use machine learning and neural networks to get at the heart of how brands are represented in the visual web.

We are looking for someone who considers themselves not only a full stack software developer but also an entrepreneur, with the desire to grow, learn, lead and get things done in a highly dynamic and flexible startup environment.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the two Founders of the company, you will be expected to be polyvalent technically and capable of creating internet-based tools including webcrawlers, automation software, and a consumer-facing front-end in a self-directed manner.

You will work with the dev team to design data models, business logic and analytic tools on both the front and back end. You will work with the team to deliver and test prototypes to internal and external groups, incorporating test feedback to refine and improve these prototypes and turn them into production ready, scalable products suitable for new and existing customers.

You will take on new work and leadership responsibilities dynamically as they arise.

Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelors or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
1 – 5 years of experience with software design and best development practices
Very organized with a keen attention to detail
Familiarity with lean startup practices and agile development
Experience and desire to work in a startup environment: autonomous, comfortable with ambiguity and change
Extensive experience with .NET (C# for MVC applications built on ASP.NET), SQL Server, Linq, web development tools (HTML, Javascript/Ajax/JQuery, CSS, Razor)
Experience with multi-tier, multi-server enterprise application environments, Inter thread/process/server communication (Windows), Single Page Applications and Internet technologies (HTTP, FTP, ports, network security, etc.)
