Business Intelligence Specialist
Reporting to the Director, Business Excellence, and located in Calgary, AB, this position is responsible for supporting the development, infrastructure and business process improvements needed to gather and analyze Business and Market intelligence for the creation of short and long term business plans, forecasts and reports for Crop Teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing short and long term market forecasts by utilizing Stats Canada, Commodity and Economic reports as well as market research data in conjunction with analysis of the Canadian agricultural marketplace and discussion with Crop Teams.
Collaborating fully with Business Excellence Team in order to maximize market insight and appropriate interpretation within the business.
Directing third-party syndicated market research providers and analyzing/summarizing study results to meet local, North American or Global requirements.
In conjunction with the Director of Business Excellence, managing proprietary market research studies for improved customer and market insight.
Providing reporting to fulfill global Business Intelligence market requests, and actively participate in global Business Intelligence community
Participating as required in Crop Team meetings and on Special Projects assigned by Director, Business Excellence.
Providing reporting, training and market research business support to Sales, Key Customer Strategy, portfolio management and Integrated communications as well as other relevant business functions on an ad hoc basis.
Qualifications:
Degree in Business or Agriculture
Minimum 5 years’ experience
Working knowledge of:
Sales
Crop Protection and Seed industry
Market research.
Marketing
Agricultural economics
Financial concepts.
Understanding of grower, retail and distribution networks.
Strong ability to manage technical and non-technical projects.
