General Manager
Glossop, Manitoba
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the General Manager will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to the staff at the Glossop facility. This position will be key to ensuring P&H is meeting annual plans in grain handle, crop input sales and expense management with a focus on achieving annual budgeted goals. This position will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Glossop facility. The General Manager will have HR responsibilities and be instrumental in coaching & mentoring staff in the implementation of their goals and objectives to ensure maximum profitability is achieved.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Managing a large grain & crop input facility.
Provide daily direction to the staff at the location.
Oversee the binning, blending & grading of grain.
Oversee the processing of grain contracts.
Annual facility budgeting & planning as well as monitor and maintain proper profit & loss.
Develop and manage grain contracting & sales projections.
Maintain compliance with all food safety documentation (i.e. HCCAP, CTPAT).
Monitor market developments & competition.
Provide management & coaching to staff and general human resource management.
Manage preventative maintenance program.
Oversee credit program specifications.
Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of the operation of a grain elevator.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in managing an agricultural based business.
Thorough knowledge of Western Canada agriculture business.
A degree or diploma in Agriculture or Business is an asset.
Computer literacy is required.
Valid driver’s licence is required.
