Grain Farmers of Ontario is collaborating with DuPont Pioneer, a leading global agricultural organization, creating an opportunity for a Market Development Manager to introduce new high stability oils in the Canadian market. The primary objective of the role will be to position, promote, negotiate and secure enduring contracts with key accounts in the Canadian Food Service and Restaurant Industry. The candidate we seek has a proven ability to deal with and influence decision makers at all levels of an organization across the value chain. This individual is highly motivated and entrepreneurial; possess excellent customer management skills with a proven track record in value proposition selling and establishing products in the Canadian market.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop an effective marketing strategy for new product introduction in the Canadian market
Identifies and develops business opportunities; acts as a driving force in opening up new market opportunities.
Prospecting and building relationships with potential customers resulting in sustainable business
Establishes and develops positive customer relationships at all levels of the organization to achieve short and long-term business results.
Create opportunities with potential customers for oil trials and subsequent sales
Advise and guide potential clients in making informed decisions related to purchase
Competitor analysis:fully comprehend competitive offerings to differentiate and sell the value proposition
Product presentations, preparing quotations and responses to customer enquiries
Secure contracts with restaurants or other clients
Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum of 10+ years of broad based business development experience in the food service industry.
Bachelor degree in Food Science, Business, Marketing, Sales or related discipline an asset
A food science or development background considered an asset for this role.
Strong ability to work with diverse groups, from the project team to external stakeholders
Successful track record in business development and securing business
Can demonstrate a proven ability to formulate ideas and create the business plan to secure contracts
Deep industry expertise and extensive network within Canadian Food Service and Restaurant Industry
Demonstrated track record of achieving annual growth targets in a business development role
Solid business acumen and experience in food service, engaging with distributors and purchasing
Ability to translate needs of the customers networking throughout the value chain to achieve results and quality execution
Experience in developing business strategy and the plan to achieve goals.
Knowledge of French is considered an asset
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to work independently
Technical understanding of Agriculture industry considered an asset
Knowledge of food preparation is a strength and possesses an understanding of food trends.
Strategic communicator, who is analytical, well organized and has excellent presentation skills.
Translate technical aspects of the products to various audiences
Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time
Hours: 40 hrs/week – Home Office.
Contract Position: Approx. 20 months
