Essential Duties:

  •     Work with the store management team to develop and follow an annual service budget and plan to provide realistic, attainable and measurable service profit goals and operational objectives.
  •     Participate in the development and execution of the Service marketing plan.
  •     Resolve customer complaints relative to service with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
  •     Recruit, train, appraise and provide direction to service personnel to support service sales growth and customer service requirements.
  •     Control and maintain proper paper flow in the Service Department to reflect all service activity necessary to audit and assess the performance of the department and individual employees on a monthly basis.
  •     Assist in the appraisal of repair work coming into the Service Department.
  •     Provide a leadership role within the service department while working alongside shop and field technicians to achieve departmental goals and tech efficiency.
  •     Schedule and assign jobs and work areas to the employees according to their skills and knowledge.
  •     Ensure that the service department is equipped with the necessary tools and service equipment and that they are maintained in good working order.

Skills and Requirements:
  •     Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively direct and promote teamwork, cooperation and customer satisfaction.
  •     A natural mechanical proficiency along with knowledge of diagnostic equipment and specialized tools is required.
  •     Must be thoroughly familiar with John Deere and competitor’s products.
  •     Must demonstrate the skill and knowledge required to direct repair work.
