Purpose:
To maximize sales and profitability by working closely with top tier growers.Key Accountabilities:
Meet or ideally exceed territory sales targets and objectives by:
Focusing on Elite Grower customers who are considered “Grow and Get” customers (defined as large grower customers with whom our current share of opportunity is less than desired, based on information from market research)
Implement annual business/activity plans with selected top tier growers in cooperation with preferred retail partners using a CustomerLink approach
Execute the Discovery phase of Strategic Selling with a strong business orientation and focus to provide added value and information beyond agronomic expertise.
Delivering programs or offers to targeted growers
Interfaces with Territory Sales Representatives to manage retail relationships in his/her geography
Manages performance inquiry process by working hand in hand with the Seed Specialist and the Agronomic Service Representative for agronomy requirements
Communicates on an ongoing basis with elite grower’s preferred retail account representative and/or consultants in order to keep lines of communication open between Retail Account(s) and Syngenta
Records all grower interaction including offers made and agreed-to in CRM tool so that information is shared with appropriate TSRs and other internal colleagues
Collaborates with Customer Campaign teams to provide input on customer needs
Key Qualifications:
Minimum B.Sc.or B.Comm, plus a minimum of 5 years experience in agri-business industry, or related role.
Sales and market knowledge of general trends in western Canadian agriculture, including customer and competitor activity, as well as a working knowledge of Syngenta’s and competitor’s products and offers and the regulations and policies that affect these markets
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to effectively develop trusted relationships internally and externally
Selling skills, negotiation skills, and decision-making ability needed to gain maximum sales from customers
General understanding of finance and budgeting process
Agronomic knowledge of the crops grown in the geographic area
Awareness of new and existing technologies
First-hand knowledge of farming operations
Understanding of Strategic Selling
