Quality Assurance Coordinator
Edmonton, ABAs the Provincial Coordinator of the Canadian Quality Assurance Program (CQA) you will:
Work with Alberta pork producers.
Be responsible for the day-to-day activities related to animal care, biosecurity and quality assurance programs that support Alberta’s pork producers to maintain some of the highest production standards in the world.
Maintain the Alberta Pork emergency preparedness plan / assist producers with planning.
Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Handle grant management.
Work with and update consultants (validators) on implementation of the different programs.
Assist in and provide information at producer and public events.
To be successful in this role, your background will include:
A university degree in animal science and 2-3 years of practical experience in the hog industry or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Strong knowledge of animal care standards, biosecurity protocols, and quality assurance programs is a definite asset.
Ability to multi-task, take on responsibilities and work well in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
High level of problem solving, time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently.
Excellent team player who can work well with external consultants and other stakeholders.
Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
The position requires travel to rural locations in the province on a regular basis; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required. Alberta Pork offers a competitive salary and benefits program.
