ROLE PURPOSE:
Create demand for Syngenta Seed & Seed Care products in accordance with the annual sales and marketing plan.
Develop the Western Canadian market for Syngenta Seed & Seed Care products by implementing research permit programs to field test products in development.
Lead field demonstrations of newly registered products to position products with customers, generate data for marketing and enable transfer of Seed & Seed Care technology to customers and Territory Sales Representatives.
Provide expertise to the sales team and customers in all aspects of seed treating application technology, including trouble shooting, equipment recommendations, equipment set up, training of treating personnel and product stewardship.
Provide expertise to the sales team and customers in all aspects of Syngenta seed technology, including varietal recommendations, seeding rates and adjacent technology.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with seed industry personnel, influencers and commercial treaters to further the interests of Syngenta Seed & Seed Care technology.
Develop specific plans with the District Manager and Technical Lead for field evaluation and demonstrations, tours, meeting and training requirements and sales objectives.
Provide support for Syngenta Seed & Seed Care products with industry centres of influence and Grower Organizations.
Provide input, feedback and analysis on marketing programs, market intelligence, product development needs and product support.
Provide seed industry customers with technical support and trouble shooting on current and emerging seed care equipment, application and formulations, equipment calibration and seed loading analysis.
Work with the Agronomic Service Reps to support field demonstration tours, testimonials, seed trade and grower organization support.
Maintain Seed Company, seed grower and commercial seed treater customer information base, which includes, customer profile, key contacts, application equipment details, and market share numbers.
Create product demand through customer product presentations and training, technology transfer and product and solution benefit communications with retail partners, targeted growers, centres of influence and grower association meetings.
Provide commercial treaters with current information regarding registered Syngenta Seed Care products including emerging products and equipment that would benefit their business.
Develop and conduct seed care workshops to transfer technology to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with Territory Sales Representatives to maximize the sale and correct use of seed care products in designated district.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum B.Sc. in Agriculture, Business or Science
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in either sales, marketing, technical, or research related field
- Knowledge of Western Canadian seed industry, commercial treaters, commercial varieties, customers, distributors, markets, structure, operational and sales requirements in Canada.
- Knowledge of Seed & Seed Care product & technical usage in order to communicate requirements for use as per guidelines of labels, variety recommendations, MSDS and government regulations.
- Knowledge of agronomy, plant pathology, entomology, and crop protection as it relates to the major crops grown in Canada
- Technical knowledge of current trends in the seed treatment business and current seed treating equipment
- A passion for customer satisfaction and support
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and results-oriented skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Skilled with Microsoft Office
- Well-developed negotiations skills
- Works independently, highly organized with the ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of product inquiry handling to ensure timely, accurate investigation, documentation and complete customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of competitors and competitive products and activities.
- Certified Crop Science Certification (completed or in progress) and/or CCA an asset
