Role Summary/Purpose:
Responsible for overall direction of the Risk function for GE Capital Americas – Canada. Leads the underwriting, portfolio management and risk management processes. Provides leadership to executive and senior risk managers. Role can be located in either Mississauga or Montreal.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provides strategic leadership to the Risk organization for GE Capital Americas - Canada.
Accountable for non-earnings, credit costs and other Risk financial metrics.
Evaluate and approve potential transactions and oversee structuring and underwriting of structured deals to maintain high asset quality and meet customer needs.
Serves as member of functional/business senior leadership team.
Provides strategic direction to function, including establishment of risk management strategies.
Interacts with customers, senior business leaders and employees to build relationships, resolve issues and influence strategic outcomes. Efficiently allocate resources to maximize effectiveness.
Lead the development and improvement of business processes to meet regulatory and economic requirements.
Hires, coaches and evaluates senior level managers in the organization.
Establishes organizational structure, and oversees the staffing and development of the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with ten or more years of Risk management experience (or High School degree/GED and 14 or more years).
Two or more years of senior level leadership of a Risk management organization, including exercising leadership over Risk professionals.
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada.
Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, reference verification and background check.
Must be willing to travel.
Must be willing to work out of an office in either Mississauga or Montreal.
GE will require proof of work authorization.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Five years of progressive leadership experience in risk management.

Cross-functional teamwork: ability to pull together teams comprised of individuals from multiple functional backgrounds and drive results.
