Job Description Role Mandate:
The Director, Bakery Operations Ontario and Quebec is a pivotal role which leads a team of Market Specialists to provide coaching, training and foster an environment of continuous improvement on store standards in order to achieve an improvement in customer satisfaction leading to sales, profit and market share growth. This role is also responsible, in partnership with operations and category leads for the overall look and operation of their department including floor plans, fixtures, small wares as well as operational and merchandising standards.
Accountabilities:
• Work with District Managers to manage the itinerary of the specialists
• Set weekly, quarterly and annual priorities for the specialists based on store or banner needs, opportunities to improve standards and/or category programs
• Partner with category leads to provide operational feedback on programs either prior to program launch or through a robust post mortem process
• A large proportion of time is to be spent in stores coaching and mentoring specialists as well as being the senior level coach to department management and colleagues
• Review floor plans for new and renovated stores to ensure stores are built to model and include adequate floor space, merchandising space, back room space and has the appropriate fixtures and equipment to run the business
• Manage a portfolio of capital requests including capital recommendations, preliminary costing and ROI information and see the requests through to completion working closely with the store development group.
Job Qualifications Role Requirements:
• Operational experience as a specialist preferably in the bakery department or Senior retail management experience at a Store Manager level or above or Senior category experience at a Category Manager level or above
• Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal and team building skills
• Leading and motivating others
• Bilingual in English and French would be an asset
