Cargill Grain and Oilseeds Supply Chain (GOSC) is currently constructing a new canola processing plant in Camrose, AB which will produce canola oil and meal. Canola oil is used as a healthy vegetable oil in salad oils, as well as in frying and processed food applications. Canola meal is a high protein feed product used by the livestock industry.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a 2nd Class (ticketed up to a 1st Class) Chief Power Engineer to work with our construction team to first get the plant constructed, specifically with pressure and utility equipment. This role will transition into a day-to-day role within the plant once construction is completed. General duties would include coordinating and working with 2nd class power engineers on various shifts, ensuring compliance with applicable safety and equipment rules and regulations, maintaining applicable utilities and equipment and ensuring efficient operations for the processing plant.

Principal Accountabilities:

Ensure code compliance
Ensure safe operation of all pressure equipment and utilities
Coordinate and liaise with boiler inspectors
Coordinate all appropriate permits and licenses
Keep required records and logs

Ensure efficient operation of all pressure equipment and utilities
Manage boiler room staff and ensure staff are qualified and trained
Shutdown planning and execution
Quality Control

Ensure maintenance and operation of Air Conditioning Systems/HVAC Systems
Commissioning and de-commissioning of equipment
Ensure efficient operation of refrigeration equipment
Ensure asset(s) health

Skills:
Required:
- 2nd Class Power Engineer Certification pursuing a1st Class Power Engineer Certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience working an industrial environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mechanical & electrical aptitude and a general understanding of parts, equipment, tools, drawings, etc.
- Must be flexible for working schedule
- Strong teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in various work conditions ( noise, odours, dust)
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis
