The Financial Analyst would be responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, which includes:

Understanding, planning, communicating and gathering reporting requirements by building strong relationships with local and Corporate finance partners to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Prepare Corporate and internal reporting requirements for actual results and budget updates.

Lead and coordinate with subject matter experts as appropriate to apply Corporate reporting changes into local reporting requirements.

Perform third party reporting including Stats Canada reporting and Regulatory body reporting.

Coordinate and lead all aspects of month-end close including:

Timely communication of requirements and deadlines to broader department

Perform month end closing tasks including sales reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations.

Generate and reconcile monthly P&L and prepare Walkthrough Document; facilitate the collection of commentary on key variances from broader Finance team.

Organize and lead month-end CFO P&L review meetings.

Ensure all necessary control documents for closing are obtained on time.

Ensure internal controls relating to SOX FROALIE cycle are functional. Proactively assess any process, control and system changes with SOX team:

Maintain Standards of Procedure and desktop procedures around critical processes and control areas.

Coordinating and delivering training for finance business partners on roles and responsibilities relating to the FROALIE cycle.

Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit of the FROALIE cycle.

Initiate continuous process and control improvements:

Update, maintaining and continue to streamline / automate reporting models on an on-going basis with appropriate controls built into place.

Lead special projects as required.

Qualifications:
Accounting designation (CGA, CMA) or MBA or Bachelor degree with Accounting Major

Minimum two years of accounting work experience in a corporate environment

Proven planning and organizational skills with attention to detail

Effective collaboration and teaming skills

Strong customer focus and communication skills

Strong business acumen and analytical skills

Solid computer skills in particular intermediate to strong Microsoft Excel skills

Experience in SAP an asset
