Monsanto Canada is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the marketing team. The successful candidate will be accountable for creating and editing technical agronomic written material for use in marketing communications.
The written material will be used to educate retailers and farmers on agronomic topics and on the features and benefits of Monsanto products.

Major Responsibilities:

Work with the technology development (TD) team to understand the nature of Monsanto ??s products and agronomic practices.
Work with the marketing team to determine the most appropriate distribution strategy; developing a timeline for delivery; and executing the strategy in the marketplace.
Understand technical information distribution requirements of TD and marketing groups:

Across corn, soybeans and canola
To growers, channels, and internal needs
Eastern and western Canada

Write technical material and adapt existing technical material for various uses and distribution methods.

Translate technical information into offline and online materials for non-technical and technical users.

Work with various departments to create meaningful and consistent messaging for customers.

Ensure documentation conforms to the company ??s standards.

Co-ordinate the development of technical training material for internal and external audiences.

Develop a distribution strategy to fulfill the needs of the marketing manager ??s communication requirements.


Scope of the Job:

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the marketing team and will regularly interact with the technology development team.

The ability to coordinate with other technical writers within Canada and the United States.

Strong relationship building skills.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.Ag., B.Comm, B.A.)
  • Agronomic knowledge
  • Excellent written communication skills (writing samples will be a requirement)
  • Marketing communication experience (traditional and new media)
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to adhere to specific technical and legal requirements
  • Ability to communicate agronomic language to nontechnical audiences
  • Ability to learn and use supporting IT systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
  • Self motivating and ability to meet timelines and project target date
